The SkyWAN.Transfer network is compiled with
the HUB central station, Ku band satellite channels
and VSAT satellite terminals working with 1,2m
diameter antennas. The network architecture is
designed in star topology with the maximum capacity
of 34.000 terminals. SkyWAN.Transfer service may
be based on protocols such as: X.25, Async. (X.3/X.28/X.29),
SDLC, TCP/IP (including IP routing).
Transmission speeds are: 128kbps between
the central station and the terminal, and 38,4kbps
between the terminal and the HUB. There are Ethernet
port (10BaseT, link RJ 45) and two serial ports
(RS 232 link DB 25 Female) available on the satellite
terminal. The nominal speed on IP port is 10Mbps
while on the X.25 one it may be configured from
50bps up to 65kbps. The standard offer uses a
shared model of access to satellite resources.
However, with more VSAT stations, the economy
of scale and the abilities of hardware allow DataTrans
to offer individually designed private networks,
which satisfy specific requirements. The branches
assigned by the client are connected via satellite
(single satellite hop) through the narrow-band
VSAT station with the DataTrans’ central station
in Legionowo and then, through the narrow- band
VSAT station (double satellite hop) or (optionally)
through the POLPAK-T dedicated ground link with
the customer’s central network node.
Option with a ground link between the central
station in Legionowo and the customer’s central
node helps prevents the transmission delay on
the satellite link and/or increase throughput
between customer’s central unit and his branches
in case of applications, which use access to the
central user server with particular intensity.
VSAT station gives the possibility of direct connection
to LAN network with the Internet Protocol (IP)
and Ethernet 10BaseT interface or with X.25 protocol
with RS-232 interface
SkyWAN.Transfer network accessibility is
95,5% of the year, where accessibility means the
possibility of data transmission between network
nodes during 95,5% of the year.
In the SkyWAN.Transfer service there is
a 30Mb monthly limit of generated traffic for
the whole customer’s VSAT network. There are three
technical solutions available in SkyWAn.Transfer
offer:
- Configuration is completely independent of
the client’s ground links.
- Konfiguracja niezależna od łącz naziemnych
na odcinku pomiędzy punktem końcowym (lokalizacja
klienta) a stacją centralną sieci SkyWAN w Legionowie.
Natomiast na odcinku pomiędzy Legionowem a centralą
klienta wykorzystywane jest łącze naziemne (radiolinia,
POLPAK-T).
- Configuration is independent of the ground
link between the leaf node (client’s localization)
and the SkyWAN network central station in Legionowo.
However, the ground link (radioline, POLPAK-T)
is used between Legionowo and client’s central
unit.
- Configuration similar to B with additional
satellite substitute link between the central
station in Legionowo and customer’s headquarters.
All solutions are controlled by the remote management
system, which helps to provide an early troubleshooting
and remote diagnostic every port.
Wide-band services- SkyWAN.Cargo SkyWAN.Cargo
network has been designed only with satellite
terminals working with 1,8m diameter antennas
and space located segment. Hub-less architecture
simplifies the system and gives the possibility
of work in full mesh configuration.
With single satellite hop. Network Management
Server (NMS) provides system configuration, monitoring
and managing the dynamic bandwidth allocation.
NMS is connected with all network terminals through
the Master Reference Terminal (MRT). IP protocol
(routing with: RIP-1, RIP-2, OSPF, BGP-4) is a
standard one for SkyWAN.Cargo service, Frame Relay
and ATM protocols are available optionally.
